Police in Carroll, Iowa, received a 911 last Friday reporting two disguised men were trying to break into an apartment. Upon arriving, this is what they found.

They were talking about these guys on the radio. They were charged with only attempted burglary because they couldn't manage to even break in. They gave up and got busted as they were leaving.

If they hadn't been caught in the act it would probably work actually. People are prone to only remember "he had magic marker on his face" and not what he looked like if they have some prominent bullshit trait like that.
Still.. this is why most people wear masks, so that they can be taken off quickly and discarded in case they need to pretend to not be criminals.

A simple facial Band-Aid and sunglasses will usually do the trick in foiling anyone from identifying you.
