Does anyone know how to easily convert an swf or flv file to an avi or mpg? I need an easy way to insert swf and flv files into Powerpoint for my sister. There is a way to do it now but it's impossible to explain it to her, and to be honest it wasn't working for me when I tried it.

Yes you can if your video driver can support it.
Get into your Display Properties panel (right-click the background and click properties)
Click the settings tab.
If it's showing 2 monitors you can just click and drag the monitors around to where you want them.

Maybe try removing the device in device manager, rebooting, and letting it find it again?

Today while I was driving home I got an email on my Blackberry. It was an important answer I had been waiting on so I read it and figured I would reply to it when I got home. I get home, sign on the VPN, open Outlook and the email is not there. Check the BlackBerry and it is not there either. I know I didn't imagine it (not drinking yet) so on a whim I check WebMail and there it is. What could have caused it to disappear from the other 2 locations but still show on Webmail?
