I don't know your wireshark knowledge; did you create a capture sensor that corresponds to your wired connection, and started it?

Oh. Well, close Wireshark.

1. Open wireshark.
2. Click the first button, "List the available capture interfaces..."
3. Find the line that corresponds to your current interface, the one with a normal IP address
4. Click "start"

So, one of the errors gave me the info that the error was caused by CineForm Neo player, which is apparently part of Premier Pro (which I haven't used in ages). Why would this error just now be starting?

Hahaha, dude, you used a sledgehammer to put in a finishing nail.

In firefox go to Tools, Options, Security, click the Saved Passwords button, click Show Passwords.

Well, it turned out while it wasn't one of those problems, that page led me to the solution.

I downloaded a video someone posted from NY, and I decided to use that to open divx the lazy way, and it turns out that the video file didn't download correctly.

Deleted it, rebooted, and no Com Surrogate error!

Thanks.

If you're using wireshark make sure you configure the filters and don't just run a full system capture.
Otherwise you'll have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much data.

Apache2, Drupal 6.6, PHP5 - getting clean URLs to work

i've followed everything in the drupal handbook. made sure that the module was loaded, which it is. i've even AddModule in the httpd.conf but it errors saying it's already loaded by apache2.conf. i've even added RewriteEngine on to the .htaccess. i'm supposed to waking up right now instead of already at work (changed work hours) so i can't think. is there anything else i'm missing?

So there's a website I go to that I can't reach anymore. Using http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ I've found that apparently it's up. I've been able to reach it only once in 4 days. The site is http://www.lakestatefishing.com/ if anyone cares. What can I do to reach this site? I already flushed my cache and DNS and deleted the cookies. Doesn't work in Firefox or IE.

not really, it should clear up on it's own. thats the way the intertrontubes should work. unless its some kind of static route. maybe you could bounce your traffic off a web proxy to get to the site? just don't send any personal data through, i don't trust them.

You read it here first, expedia is dropping malware again through ads.

At least, I suspect it is. While visiting expedia.com, the browser tried to run a VBS script in the user's IE cache folder. That sounds malicious doesn't it?

Unfortunately, I don't have a a copy of the file. However, it was named flash[1].vbs.

Heads up everyone.
We just got hit with a worm.
Some varient of Vundo I think.
I drops a dynamically named exe in the root of C: as well as creates a file called "servics.exe" in %windir%\system32\drivers

The worm spews all kinds of garbage on ports 135, 445, and 44445 to name a few.
None of the AV tools are picking it up even though I force scan the files I know are infected.
This is an RPC exploit, patchMS08-067 is the fix.

We're working with Symantec to create a definition file.

Ok, I may have made a horrible mistake, I bought a zune (120gb).

I never thought I would ever own an MP3 players but I am working out etc and decided to get one. I got this instead of the ipod cause the interface seemed prettier.

Is there anyway I can just drag mp3 files or folders to this like you can with other mp3 players, please say yes. I am 24 hours drive from the store I bought it at.

Thanks

No, it requires you to use the client software to sync just like ipod/itunes. You can put files on it using a simple hack if you want to use it as a external HD, but you won't be able to play any of the media on the device.

The sync software is free and easy to use: http://www.zune.net/en-US/

The "end-to-end" solutions like Zune/iPod restrict you to using the respective software because of security concerns. Opening up the device like that opens up security holes.

It's a good thing they lock it to the software, right? Because people don't totally hack the hell out of them or anything. Just one more of the many cases where legit consumers are screwed, pirates and the like are mildly annoyed.

All I want to do is pick and album and Add it

and then pick another one

as far as I can tell, it wants to add everything or me to deselect what I don't want added.

I set it to manual sync, I just right clicked on an album and told it to "Sync with device_name" and waited on it a while, it said it was doing it. I disconnected the device and selected "music" on the device and it says "No items"

You should still be able to do everything drag and drop. Just drag the file into the Zune software window to add it to your library, then drag it in your library onto the little device icon in the bottom left corner of the window.

If the device isn't showing any content try rebooting (hold UP + BACK for 5 sec) and syncing again.

Sorry you're having problems.

Ok, that last thing was a file / folder access problem, zune just didn't seem to know it failed to sync.

Now I know I am old, and I only know how to tell computers what to do, I don't do well when they try and do shit for me, especially when its not what I want to do at all....

I have huge collection of out of print music in MP3 only format..

so when I tell zune to only look at one folder (making this my entire library as a test), say Bill Monroe 1936-1946, it picks out some of the albums, but when I click on the, say instead of 15 songs, there are only 3 listed. I find this systematically throughout.

I know there is something I don't fundamentally understand, so I REALLY appreciate your patience.

If this is some automatic database failure ? Can I just tell it to add a folder.... I can't be dependent on their database, what about all the old demo albums, and bootlegs (permitted) I have encoded that are not in release ?
