Ah yes the old thread has been locked.
Now I can post in here comfortably.

One of the local papers dedicate the entire last weeks paper to the presidential election.
They had a section where they listed all the candidates and which locals (and where they were from) had donated to them.
Almost all of John Edwards donations came from lawyers in one small, uppity, suburban town.
The total number of people donating to Edwards was almost the lowest but he had one of the highest total contributions.
I bet they feel stupid now.

LOL. Ron Paul is crazy. He thinks he can put out that he's in favor of dismantling public school, dismantling social security, and still have a shot at getting elected.

Even though I like those ideas to a certain extent, they are far too radical for him to have a snowball's chance in hell.

Ya, expense is one major reason he cites for being anti war, even wrote some essays about the hidden costs of war and why war should be used as a last resort.

But, his main reason for being against Iraq War, like most of his platforms, is based on the constitution.

I would say there is a lot more people on this forum that doesn't like RP than there is that does though, so your not alone.

yeah, a lot of things are justified that way. like his desire to end public education.

Actually, let me give that a try.

Texas, over the past thirty or so years,
Has been getting back far less in federal spending than it has been paying in federal taxes
(Averaging about eighty-five cents on the dollar), while other states have been getting back as much as two dollars on the dollar.
One could argue that he was simply trying to recover money that was unjustly taken from the state.

Alternately, one could argue that his role as a legislator is representative,
And so it is his job to represent the interest of his constituents;
Were it an executive position, he would have conducted himself differently, operating on his own judgment rather than the voice of his district,
But as it stood, he was elected to work for his district as a representative.
